About Me
I have thirty-five years experience in aviation/aerospace including aviation threat assessment, safety, and university level teaching. I am the Director of Academics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Los Angeles Metro Campus. From 1975 to 1985 I worked as a flight instructor, corporate pilot, and cargo airline pilot. From 1985 to 2003 I worked with McDonnell Douglas and later Boeing writing and editing Aircraft Operating Manuals for DC-10, MD-11, MD-80, and B-717 aircraft. In this position I worked with technical experts, pilots, simulator instructors, and regulatory agencies from all across the globe. I live in Menifee, California with my wife Dr. Janet Cosman-Ross, also an ERAU instructor.
